ABOUT
Communications shaped by
business experience
I’m Susan Langmann, an American strategic communications consultant based in France. I work with French and European B2B companies on communications challenges where understanding the business is as important as finding the right words.
My perspective is shaped by an MBA, international corporate experience and years of working with complex B2B companies. As an American who has spent much of my career working in France and across European business environments, I also bring an understanding of how communications need to work across markets.

BEFORE SL DIGITAL
Experience from inside complex international businesses
Before starting SL Digital, I spent much of my corporate career working in EMEA roles with IBM and Texas Instruments.
Working inside large international organizations gave me direct experience of the realities behind business communications: different markets and stakeholders, complex products and solutions, competing priorities, and the challenge of making information useful to people who don't necessarily share the same technical or business perspective.
It also taught me that effective communications rarely start with the words. They start with understanding what the business is trying to achieve, what matters to the audience and what needs to be made clear. That experience still influences how I work with clients today.
SINCE FOUNDING SL DIGITAL
Working directly with companies on the communications challenges that matter
Since starting SL Digital, I’ve worked with companies across technology, industry, energy and other complex B2B sectors.
The work varies—from clarifying positioning and website messaging to developing executive communications, thought leadership and strategic proposal content. What they have in common is the need to understand a complex subject quickly, identify what really matters and turn it into communication that makes sense to the people the company needs to reach.
I often work directly with marketing and communications teams, executives and subject-matter experts, particularly when the challenge requires both strategic thinking and hands-on communication support.
HOW I WORK
Understand the business first. Then determine
what needs to be communicated
I usually begin by asking questions. I want to understand the business context, the audience, what the company is trying to achieve and where the communication challenge really lies.
That often means working directly with the people who know the subject best—executives, technical experts, sales teams and other stakeholders—and bringing together perspectives that may not initially be aligned.
From there, I help determine what matters most, what needs to be made clear and how to structure the communication around it.
